Our Staff

Office Manager

Tamsin Bland is our Office Manager.  She is an Animal Health Technician and has been a part of MBVH since 1995. She has been  keeping the staff in line and the products shelved since day one.  Away from work you’ll tend to find her in the barn with her horses and sheep or travelling the world to visit her family.
Meghan Seal, with an arts degree from Vancouver Island University, Meghan has kept herself busy at the Reception desk of Mill Bay Vet since 2005.  When she is not working, Meghan enjoys being a mom to her two little kids, Emily and Callum.  Her furry family members are (LB a small boston terrier X) and two cats.  She enjoys exercising and knitting.

Carolyn Kelter is a member of Reception desk and has been since 2008, the same year the Kelter family moved to the Cowichan Valley from Victoria.  A country girl at heart, Carolyn resides on a farm with her husband and two teenage children.  On her days off, she spends a lot of time with her horses, chickens, dogs and cats and helping rescue horses.
TammieTammie Martin moved to the Cowichan Valley in 2009 and joined the Reception desk at MBVH a year after.  She’s been working in the veterinary field after graduating as a Veterinary Assistant since 1996.  Most people find 4 children busy enough, but Tammie’s love for animals keeps her home bustling with dogs, Vincent the French Bulldog, Ruger the Beagle and four cats – Calude, Sushi, Maestro and Oscar.
Kacey MilliganKacey Milligan joined our team in 2015 after moving to Shawnigan Lake in the summer of 2014.  A year spent in the Licensed Practical Nurse program led her to Veterinary Science.  When away from the clinic you will find her at home with her dogs Rylee and Piston (both adopted from the SPCA).  Kacey enjoys hiking, kayaking, painting and photography.
Animal Health Technicians

She might actually be the longest standing employee at MBVH.  Bonnie Tolley has worked at the hospital since 1992.  As a RAHT, she spends her day in the lab, at the dental table or helping out the doctors.  When Bonnie isn’t working she likes to spend time with her son who lives in Alberta, or at home with her horses.
Alison F2The researcher in new technology for MBVH is Allison Fagan.  Since 2008 she has been keeping the RAHT team up to date with the newest equipment. Allison keeps two cats (one which is a tripod) and her dogs Shelby and Gus happy in her home. Gus was born with a Persistent Aortic Arch, a defect that seriously hampered his initial growth but after a surgery and Allison’s excellent nursing care, including all meals in an elevated ‘Bailey Chair’, Gus is a happy ‘Teacup Labrador’ and is the spokes dog for the Victoria Humane Society.  When Allison has a day off she likes to spend it hiking or kayaking.

Christine Braun is another part in our RAHT team since 2005.  Christine is married with children, and away from working with animals she enjoys volunteering for her daughters skating club, gardening or completing home renovations.
Ashley H2
A 2013 RAHT Graduate., Ashley Hansen has worked at Mill Bay Vet since 2005. She’s a true Island girl who loves horseback riding and camping.  Ashley has also done some travelling in Europe, Egypt and the Dominican Republic.

Everybody loves animals. Only a few love them enough to take Parasitology in University! Brittany Myhre is a Registered Animal Health Technician graduate from Thompson Rivers University.
Her and her husband recently bought land in Cowichan Bay, with aspiring plans to have many types of animals.
Brittany enjoys camping, hiking and fishing. She is happy to be a part of the team at our clinic.
Verterinary Assistants

Nina Sleik is a Veterinary Assistant who has been working at our facility since 2013. Although she loves all animals, Nina has an affinity for felines and is affectionately known around here as the ‘crazy cat lady’.
