Marina is an experienced RVT with over 12 years in the veterinary field and has a passion for all things furry (and sometimes scaly!). Originally from Toronto, Ontario, she holds a Specialized Honors Bachelor of Science Degree, followed by an RVT Diploma from the University of Guelph and has acquired the Fear Free Handling Certification, Hands-Free Radiology Certification and Veterinary Acupuncture Certification.
Marina’s previous work experience includes time spent as a large animal farrowing tech, research tech, companion animal and exotics tech, and she has been in veterinary management for 3 years. Not one to shy away from a challenge, she used to run her own locum RVT business, she also taught the veterinary assistant program at Vancouver Island University (VIU) and is currently serving as Vice President of the BCVTA.
When not saving lives or making big decisions, Marina can be found advocating for the vet community, through volunteer work with community initiatives or completing journal articles on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the veterinary industry. She currently lives on Vancouver Island with her husband and fiesty shiba inu's.
